tcb | cat head jacket
the tcb cat head jacket is based on a vintage duck head chore coat from the 1930s, discovered and acquired by tcb’s ryo at a flea market in amsterdam several years ago. hajime & co. took this exceptional original and studied it down to the smallest detail - from its cut and construction to the fabric composition, color and numerous distinctive features. the result is an exact reproduction of the historic original.
the cat head jacket has a slightly shorter, boxy silhouette and features many great authentic details: asymmetrically positioned chest pockets, three different vintage-inspired button types, as well as contrasting green bar tacks and buttonholes.
one of the most remarkable features is the unusual chainstitch collar with chin strap. in order to reproduce the original construction as faithfully as possible, tcb had to specially borrow an attachment that allowed the collar to be made on an original union special 51800g waistband machine.
the eponymous cat head motif replaces the duck head logo found on the historical original, giving the jacket its own distinctive tcb character.
