studio d'artisan | 5651 noragi sashiko work shirt (blue)
this “noragi sashiko” work shirt by studio d’artisan is a true ode to both sda’s craftsmanship and japan’s cultural heritage. traditionally in japan, cotton fabrics were considered an indespensible commodity. kimonos were worn everyday through harsh winters and scorching summers. as such, clothing was re-used repeatedly and never thrown away. even when completely worn out, fabrics were carefully stitched and patched back together. seeking to recreate the beautiful and intricate patchwork patterns seen in the past, studio d’artisan have created their latest “noragi sashiko” collection by creating a proprietary jacquard weave featuring various fabrics and a vertical/horizontal sashiko stitch running through ought.
