these monkey boots are john lofgren's take on a czech military boot (probably pre-ww II) favored by mods in the 1960s. the actual origin of the name "monkey boot" is lost to history, but the myth is that the tractor-tire-tread soles of the czech boots offered enough grip to climb like a monkey. the boots made from horween cavalier leather are completely made in japan, are comfortable right away and become more and more beautiful the longer you wear them.
