jelado | 55 denim jacket 406xx vanilla
the 55 denim 2nd type jacket is jelado’s take on a 1950s levi’s denim jacket keeping the original old-fashioned silhouette. this vanilla version is made in japan from unbleached denim without indigo dyeing. the last resort white tag denim used was carefully selected from american cotton, after disassembling and studying xx deadstock fabric from the early 1950s. the thread thickness, fiber length, and number of twists were scientifically analyzed to faithfully reproduce the denim. it was woven on a 50s toyoda g3 loom. the time-consuming weaving process achieves a vintage-inspired texture. each item made with this denim comes with an original name stamped with an xx, and the paper patch features an age of longing name.
