the "combat tropical" pants were used by the us army in the vietnam war in the early 1960s and are commonly known as "jungle fatigue pants". the cotton poplin used is wonderfully light and supple, quick-drying but also robust and durable, which made the pants perfect for use in areas with high temperature and humidity. buzz rickson's version is a faithful reproduction of the early type of jungle fatigue pants, with the side cargo pockets and drawstring hem.
