the buzz rickson's camo shorts are based on the classic fatigue pants of the us army and are made in japan from a tightly woven cotton sateen with mitchell camo pattern. the camouflage pattern, named after the designer meldon mitchell, was mainly used in the 1950s for equipment such as tent fabrics or helmets, but during the vietnam war a few items of clothing with the camo pattern were also tested.
