the n-1 deck jacket with u.s.n. print on the left chest by buzz rickson's is a faithful reproduction of the khaki model introduced in 1945. the year before, the jacket was in navy blue, but just for a short time and in limited quantities. the deck jacket was developed to protect the u.s. navy ship's crews from the adverse weather conditions on the high seas. with its warm alpaca lining, the deck jacket still defies the most uncomfortable winter weather today.
