the n-1 deck jacket by buzz rickson's is based on the classic winter jackets worn by u.s. navy ship's crews during the second world war to protect them from the adverse weather conditions on the high seas. with its warm alpaca lining, the deck jacket still defies the most uncomfortable winter weather today. while the typical n-1 jacket used a heavy twill fabric known as jungle cloth, this particular version was made of a rare cotton backed-sateen fabric which offers even more flexibility and excellent mobility. the n-1's cuffs feature built-in ribs that protect the ribs from friction and ensure cold protection. the cuffs were also reinforced with corduroy for added durability and a comfortable feel, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail in this delicate n-1 jacket.
