pure blue japan is all about our beloved indigo, and about every shade of blue from light natural to midnight (almost) black. the company with the “shoai”, the symbol of the natural indigo leaf, in its logo was founded in kurashiki city okayama in 1997 by ken-ichi iwaya. since then, it has become one of denim enthusiasts favorites. one reason for that is the amazing slubby fabric that is woven on vintage low-tension shuttle looms and that will age so beautifully over time. whoever loves indigo loves pure blue japan.
