the vinz jeans by japanese label nimude are inspired by the 1995 film “la haine” (“hate”) starring vincent cassel as vinz. the film about young people in the parisian banlieues has since achieved cult status in france, which is undoubtedly due in part to its expressive black-and-white cinematography. nimude designer kei grew up in paris at that time and was significantly influenced by the style of the era. the jeans are made in okayama from 13oz heavyweight, sanforized non-selvedge kihara denim and have a relaxed, straight silhouette.
