the black br15626 m-65 field coat by buzz rickson's is part of the "type black" militaria cooperation with science fiction novelist william gibson. gibson designed a fictional black ma-1 ja cket from buzz rickson's for his protagonist in his book "pattern recognition", and the idea for an all-black collection was born.
buzz rickson's reproduction of the m-65 field coat is made in japan from a heavyweight cotton sateen. the original m-65 jacket was developed through continuous improvements from the m-41, which was introduced during world war 2. subsequent field jackets were fitted with a special lining, greatly improving functionality and versatility.
