whitesville was one of the most popular sportswear brands in the usa until the late 1950’s, especially for t-shirts and varsity jackets. eventually they were overshadowed by bige brands like champion, hanes, and russel athletic and closed down. in 2007, the japanese company toyo enterprise (sugar cane, buzz rickson, sun surf, etc.) bought the license for the brand and breathed new life into it.
