the velva sheen label, founded in cincinnati in 1932, has seen a lot over the years. in the glory days, stars like steve mcqueen and muhammad ali were among the wearers of classic american sportswear, but a few years ago, the ohio-based company was on the verge of going out of business. but like a true sportsman, the label has bounced back and fought back. today, velva sheen is once again successfully producing what made it so popular in the past: perfect hoodies, sweatshirts and t-shirts, all made in the usa and exclusively with american cotton.
