the real mccoy's | u.s.n. blue deck jacket
the u.s.n. blue deck jacket was first introduced by the u.s. navy around 1941 as a winter jacket for non-commissioned officers. though its purpose was broadly defined in regulations, it quickly became very popular for work on deck, which later earned it the nickname “deck zip jacket” among vintage collectors. unlike the later n-1 deck jackets, the jacket was not lined with alpaca but with wool flannel.
the real mccoy's version is made in japan from durable dark navy cord cloth, true to the original, and fully lined with matching wool melton. it features wool ribbing for added insulation, a 1940s-style bell-shaped nickel front zipper with cotton tape, a concealed zip-front closure, and two side pockets.
