mcclellan field is a former us air force base in sacramento and was named in honour of maj. hezekiah mcclellan, a pioneer in arctic aeronautical tests. throughout its history, mcclellan played a crucial role as one of four u.s. air depots tasked with overhauling and repairing military aircraft.
