the japanese denim label tanuki was founded in 2016, but has already made an imposing impression on the worldwide denim community in that short time. it’s unknown who is really behind the brand. it is said that tanuki is the joint project of several renowned japanese jeans manufacturers ("the denim super-team”) who, however, want to remain anonymous in order to give tanuki its own, independent path as a brand. what makes tanuki so special is exactly what we love: tanuki combines many years of experience, passion and unique fabrics with modern, contemporary cuts and a fresh street style attitude - "taking the past and looking forward".
