the stevenson overall company started in 1920 in portland, indiana (usa) and lasted till 1930. they specialized in the production of high-quality workwear. the brand was relaunched many years later in 2005, when zip stevenson - a relative of the original owner - and the japanese atsusuke tagaya met by chance and discovered that they shared the same passion for vintage denim and leather goods. zip and atsu decided to make clothing and jeans using the same traditional process as in 1920, combining old construction details such as flat-felled seams and vintage-inspired designs with modern cuts and the best materials. however, instead of portland, all products are made in japan.
