the skb-009sp m-43 boot is already the third collaboration model between the japanese label skoob and us. it is based on the boots that were originally worn by the american gi's during the second world war and achieved cult status not least because style icon steve mcqueen wore the casual suede boots in the movie the great escape. our version features the same flat, unstructured toe box but is made in japan from horween chromexcel leather. known for its unique pull-up, chromexcel has been produced by horween for over 100 years. the recipe involves chrome and vegetable tanning and requires 89 individual steps and a minimum of 28 days to complete. the result is an incredibly durable leather with a refined & rugged finish that gets better with age.
