the real mccoy's | buco j-24 / smoky jim
too much for most, just right for some: the studded j-24 leather jacket by the real mccoy's. during the motorcycle boom after ww2 in america, many manufacturers brought leather jackets, belts and bags with jewel studs onto the market. the studs were originally intended to serve as a kind of reflector, but later became very popular with rockers and punks.
the j-24 is a faithful reproduction of what is probably the most iconic buco jacket from the 1950s. the jacket was made in japan from vegetable-tanned brown horse leather that was dyed black and develops a beautiful patina over time. incidentally, each individual jewel stud was painstakingly placed by hand.
