ametora is japanese slang for “american traditional” - the east coast collegiate style that forged the japanese menswear industry in the 1960s. kamakura’s ametora straight collar shirt is reminiscent of those shirts worn by jfk. the shirt has a comfortable fit, as was customary at the time, a straight pointed collar with collar stays, and is made in japan from wonderfully soft selvedge cotton poplin.
