buzz rickson's | br80655 william gibson black an-j 3a flight jacket
the black br80655 an-j 3a flight jacket by buzz rickson's is part of the "type black" militaria cooperation.with science fiction novelist william gibson. gibson designed a fictional black ma-1 jacket from buzz rickson's for his protagonist in his book "pattern recognition", and the idea for an all-black collection was born.
the an-j-3a was the last leather jacket issued to the us navy in world war 2, and was followed up by the g-1. the jacket is based on the type a-2 with its characteristic pockets and ribbed cuffs, but it additionally features movement pleats on the back and a warming mouton collar. the buzz rickson's x william gibson version is made in japan from butter-soft, black teacore horsehide. over time, the jacket develops a unique patina when the brown core comes through in the exposed areas.
