clinch is made by brass that started in 2008 as one of the first high-end shoe repair shops in tokyo. founder minoru matsuura and his company quickly gained notoriety for their high standard of work and evolved from shoe repair, to re-lasting to their custom lasts, to building incredible footwear around their custom lasts. in 2012 mr. matsuura launched his brand clinch by brass tokyo. all clinch boots are fully made by hand, start to finish, using the very best materials through an extremely time consuming process: hand cut, soaked, sewn, lasted, hammered and finished. these boots truly are a labour of love and a work of art and will last a lifetime.

the yeager boot is clinch's own elegant interpretation of a classic service boot and is one of our absolute favorites. this version is crafted in tokyo from black roughout cowhide that will age uniquely and beautifully with wear.
