the real mccoy's | u.s. navy pea coat (1913)
the u.s. navy pea coat is undoubtedly one of the most classic and iconic wool coats ever. since its introduction to the navy arround 1910, there have been many different iterations, but they can broadly be distinguished as the more classical pre-ww1 model as seen here and the later ww2 model that was shorter in length and removed the two front flap pockets. this 1913 spec version by the real mccoy's is made in japan from high-density melton wool that has been further treated with resin to ensure warmth and wind resistance. the 13 star buttons, representing the thirteen colonies that achieved independence to form the united states, are reproduced in ebonite, a material made from natural rubber that has been vulcanised and that ages organically with time. this beautiful pea coat can be combined with almost any outfit and shouldn't be missing from any man's wardrobe.
