ciota | m-1951 parka shell (stonewash) - black
the m-1951 parka by ciota is based on the m-51 hooded parka, which was introduced by the us army in the 1950s as a winter coat for the us ground forces. its oversized silhouette enabled the soldiers to wear all of their combat gear underneath it. the parka became popular in the 1960s, when mods started wearing it as a protective layer over their expensive wool suits. the ciota version is made in japan from a robust yet wonderfully soft cotton/nylon mix. the combination of smooth suvin cotton, strong nylon and stonewashing results in an elegant texture with a strong character.
