the l-2 flight jacket is an absolute design classic. the jacket was developed in 1945 out of a need to produce a piece which was easier to manufacture, and which was less costly. the lightweight jacket was originally intended for flights between 10 and 30 degrees celsius, but became much more popular due to its warming powers and excellent wearing comfort.
buzz rickson's version is a faithful reproduction of one of the first l-2 jackets produced by "reed products, inc". it is made in japan from lightweight but durable nylon twill and lined with a blend of 50% wool and 50% nylon. the perfect jacket for year-round wear.
