invertère
the invertère coat company ltd. was founded in 1904 by mr. harold parkin and his two brothers in the heart of newton abbot in england. the name invertère comes from the latin and means "to turn around", referring to the fact that the brand developed the very first reversible coats in the world, which was a highly innovative technology at that time. the corresponding patents are still kept in the "invertère buildings". invertère had its worldwide breakthrough after the second world war with the development of the famous duffle coat. in 1986, the invertère factory was closed down and harold shaw, who had been technical director there, founded a new company that still manufactures the same invertère coats today and is still in the shaw family.
