the photographer utility jacket by the real mccoy's is a faithful reproduction of the french “multipoche” jacket from the 1960s, which the artist andy warhol wore during a visit to communist china in 1982, 10 years after the famous mao portrait series. filmmaker john alper accompanied andy warhol at the time to shoot the documentary “andy warhol: made in china”. this project was warhol's last film and offered a unique view of the artist as a tourist in a completely different cultural and political landscape.

the rmc version of the utility jacket is made in japan from a military-grade cotton-nylon blend - the same fabric that is used for the m-65 parka - which makes the jacket lighter and more durable than the french original. the most striking feature of the jacket is its many pockets: three chest pockets, two zippered body pockets, four flap waist pockets and two additional zippered waist pockets provide ample storage space.
