the n-3 utility shirt by buzz rickson’s is based on the uniform issued to u.s. navy ground personnel in the mid-1940s. this uniform consisted of four pieces, the n-3 jacket, the n-3 pants, the n-3 cap, and the n-3 shirt (long and short). while the jacket, pants, and cap were made from herringbone twill, the shirt was made from lightweight cotton poplin fabric, making it perfect for subtropical wear.
