this type deck a-2 jacket by buzz rickson's is an exact reproduction of a vintage jacket from the 1960s. the a-2 deck jacket was adopted in the first half of the 1960s as a successor model of the n-1, a jacket for cold weather to protect deck crew working on the deck. compared to the n-1 deck jacket, the main changes were to the materials, as well as the collar and coloring. the jacket was now made from heavy cotton back satin and lined with a soft but super-warm nylon fleece, which made the jacket lighter and more functional overall.
